Well, I thoroughly enjoyed being done with school while it lasted. No more text books, studying, or finals.
Not any more!
I have been working for Gabe and his buddy Ryan off and on for years. Their latest project is for me to find them a flip (more specifically an ugly house in a nice neighborhood they can get for pennies on the dollar, fix up, and sell fast). But they don't want an agent. None of the agents we've met are willing to help them to the extent they need, so they hired me to do their research for them. They don't know how to use the computers well, and I know how to do it.
I've been trying to find their information, but by the time we get the listings they're old. We were talking and someone mentioned it would be easier if I were a real estate agent, because then I'd get access to the MLS and be able to see the new stuff as it hits.
One thing led to another, Gabe offered to pay for my schooling, and exam, and I signed up yesterday.
Fortunately, it's an easy course, two text books, two finals, and then the state licensing exam. I can then just work for a broker doing Gabe and Ryan's research, or I can actually do it officially and get a job. So the plan is right now to try and get licensed by early June (I like doing things fast!) and possibly get a job this summer. We'll see how it goes!
In the mean time, I've got to hit the books.
