We tried selling the SUV a few months ago. The brakes were having problems, it wasn't registered, and I wasn't getting serious offers. We also felt that we shouldn't sell it at the time. Well, Gabe did the brakes for us, I did the safety inspection, and I was planning on registering it so I could use it while I was waiting for it to sell. Gabe encouraged me to not register it, and just drive it when I needed. He also encouraged me to list it high.
So I did. Within 8 hours I had a down payment of cash in hand, and the next day we finalized the transaction. I ended up getting more money off of it than I thought possible.
I guess it was just the right time to sell!
The family that bought it is perfect for it. They have three small kids, were driving an old Chevy, and he wanted something he could take off road. So they're getting a good vehicle that hopefully will help them out a lot.
We then realized that it was going to be very difficult surviving with one car. I thought that if I listed it high I could take two months to sell it and continue to use it in the mean time, but after it disappeared, we were in a pickle.
Dad came to our rescue though and lent us the Land Cruiser temporarily until we can afford an additional vehicle. He was kind enough to even bring it down for us on Friday which was a miracle as we needed two cars on Saturday.
Thanks to Dad for the use of his vehicle and thanks to God for helping us get together the money we need to pay the mortgage through the summer.
