Have you ever peeled a pear? Well if you have, you'll know that it can be pretty messy.
Now peel three trees worth on a year where they were producing double! I have no idea how many boxes and baskets and buckets of pears we started with, but after throwing out a few bushels of small and bad ones we didn't want to deal with we ended up with 156 quarts between my friend and I. Thank goodness for friends. Without her, I would have 12 quarts!
