I Did It!

I've been trying to shift my schedule. You know, the Lent thing. Be glad Mormons don't do that. Anyway, I've been having a hard time waking up early enough. When we're not getting to be until 2AM, it's kinda hard to wake up at 7AM.

So, Peter's brother-in-law died, and Peter flew out this morning for New York. I don't know how long he'll be there. At least until Wednesday. So, that means I have to drive the kids to school each morning while he's gone, starting today.

I don't know, the thought of waking up 7 kids, getting them dressed, and out the door by 7:45 is really quite intimidating. Especially when most of my children are the recipient of Peter's "broken time gene" as I call it. So Peter was gone last night, so I started then. I actually got the kids to bed by 9:45, and me to bed by 10:30 (then Peter came home and wanted to talk, so I didn't actually fall asleep then).

But this morning, I did it! I actually woke up at 6:30, had a 1/2 hour of quiet time, got the kids up and out the door, (had to wait for Kimberly's kids for 7 minutes, but hey, we were on time!).

Kimberly and I exercised, I've been doing everything on time, and I actually got two loads of of laundry and one load of dishes started. Amazing. Now that Peter's gone I should be able to do bedtime on time. Maybe this is an answer on how to get my life organized enough to get my schedule back on track. Too bad it involves my husband being gone!

Peter's actually been joking about how I'm excited that he's leaving, and now that he's gone everything will run smoothly. He was actually amazed to get home last night at 10 PM and the kids are in bed, the house is locked up, quiet, and the lights are off. He didn't know that was even possible!

Just as long as he doesn't wreck the schedule when he gets home!
