Graduation Update

Peter is fantastic. Can I just tell you? He bought me a single pink rose, which means appreciation. Then he arranged a date, which is no small feat in our house. We hadn't been out in forever! It ended up taking three babysitters to watch 7 kids and Ursula (Thanks John & Annie! You're the best!).

We went to go watch the new Star Trek movie, which is awesome, by the way. Sci Fi that actually makes you think! I love it. Then we went out to dinner at this great Thai restaurant. It was so much fun to get out and go do something together.

Special thanks to Dad, Cindy, and Katie for the gift and cash. Without the money, I couldn't have bought my cap and gown or paid for the movie or dinner. Thanks to John & Annie and Susan (Ursula's roommate) for watching the kids and Ursula. Thanks to Peter for all of his support and encouragement over these long years and for making graduation day extra special.

A note on the pictures with the baby:
My parents graduated together in the BYU April graduation. My Mom had finished her coursework in December, and had me in February. Then she graduated in April. So I attended my parents' graduation when I was two months old.

Funny thing is, I finished my course work a week before Lisa was born. Then I went to August graduation. She ended up being two months old at my graduation. There's a picture of my parents in their caps and gowns and me in a stroller. I just had to do a picture of me with my two month old at my graduation.

Of course, it was Mom's first and my seventh and Mom looked much thinner. I'm still losing weight from Julia! Sighhhhhhhhhh. Someday!

Note on the cap and gown:
For some reason I have no idea what possessed them BYU decided to go with navy caps and gowns instead of the traditional black. It's a little weird. Black looks so much better, and is definitely more slimming.

Lizzy has been desperately trying to turn me into a girl. She has made some progress. But she taught me these "rules" for dressing. As I'm putting this hideous gown on, all I can think of are that the gown follows none of the "rules" and therefore I can't wear it! Very unflattering. I'm not sure who designed them, but hey, at least everyone looked bad together!
