Ursula, Graduation, and Musings

Haven't posted in awhile because I've been so busy. Baby is having a hard time keeping food down, and she's only happy when she is outside. Needless to say we've spent a lot of time outside!

Yesterday she got walked in a stroller by her sisters while I cleaned out Peter's SUV. We've had it for a few years, and it has been a great car. But we haven't used it ever since we got the 15 passenger van, and cash is good right now. So we're selling it. If you know anyone who wants to buy a 2001 Suzuki XL7 with only 76,000 miles for $5,995, let me know!

Ursula's roommate Susan came back from California about a week ago. She got Ursula's room cleaned up, and then came to get her. Unfortunately, Ursula had no idea who Susan was! Two weeks previously, she had been wandering the house calling for Susan, and now she didn't recognize her.

Well, Peter got Ursula into the car, Susan got her home, and things have gone ok. I feel like we're doing joint custody though. Susan works from 9-5, and Ursula can't be left alone. So Susan drops her off in the morning and picks her up in the evening. It's working out ok for now. Ursula is now back to wandering the house asking for Susan.

Yellowstone is this week. For those of you who don't know, my extended family all gets together each year in Yellowstone. They spend about 4 days camping, hanging out on the beach, eating ice cream overlooking Old Faithful, and taking various short hikes. Last year I couldn't go because I was in finals week. This year we can't go because I'm short on cash, it's hard to camp with a baby (how do you keep bottles clean in freezing cold water?), and Peter has to work. So it's sad to say, but we'll miss it again.

This week also happens to be graduation week. I've had absolutely no interest in attending graduation, but Peter, Cindy, and my Dad have all recommended I go. I can't stand the thought of having to sit still for hours of speeches, and every graduation I've ever been to was incredibly boring. So horray for me: I can't get together the money for a babysitter (absolutely necessary as I can't have Peter deal with BYU campus and 7 kids, one of which who spits up every few minutes and eats every half hour), or the ugly caps and gowns which BYU for some reason makes you purchase outright. I mean really, how many times are you going to wear that outfit again?!

So it will end up being another week of kids playing outside, watching movies, adding to cardboard city, and looking forward (or not) to school starting on the 20th, while Lisa insists on walks outside, being held by mommy, and throwing up constantly.
