You know, I was raised with a lot of brothers and never did "girl" things. But now I'm really enjoying having teen daughters.
On this trip, I had no money but my girls did. They had been saving and had so much we had to get them debit cards. So I got to run around stores with the girls helping them pick out just the right items.
It really was fun being a "girl" and shopping with them.
I've been in all of those same gift shops in Jackson and Yellowstone, but never with my own girls going through racks of earrings picking out just the right one, or looking through clothing racks and jewelry boxes and other fun things.
Sara ended up getting some really nice stuff including a swan jewelry box and some nice earrings. Megan bought a hat and some other things. I got two pairs of earrings. I remember when I was a kid and finally started buying nice things. I still have some of those things today to remind me of fond memories. It was fun being able to build those memories with my girls now.
Pretty much all we ended up doing in Jackson was shopping, playing in the pool, and eating pastries and gelato.
One bonus we had this time was two older girls. Megan was able to watch the kids while Peter went to Albertsons to get baby some milk and I went to a restaurant to order takeout. It was great being able to divide and conquer! And the kids all had fun running around with Megan and watching "live" TV (you know, the kind you can't hit pause or rewind? haha how life has changed).
