Tetons

I love the Tetons. They are the most beautiful mountains I've ever seen. When you drive through, there are hardly any people, it's quiet, and peaceful. Well, at least it used to be.

This year there were people everywhere! I don't know what happened, but you could hardly go anywhere without there being tons of vehicles.

It was still fun though. We left the chocolate shop at about noon in Jackson (yes, life revolves around the chocolate shop!) and headed into the Tetons. We still had to get to our camp site about 5-6 to set up our tents, etc. so we didn't have too much time.

We entered the park and drove around. We at lunch at a turn out in Jenny Lake. I sat on a bench and passed out sandwiches and chips to children flying by. I had a few weird looks because I was parked next to a bunch of animal skins that were being shown off by a ranger. I don't know if it was the number of kids I was feeding, their lunch choice (nutella on wheat bread), or what. But I'm used to it.

But we had to leave to get back, and to find a potty stop for Mandy and some of the other kids. We headed up to Colter bay to show them the indian museum, use the restrooms, and do more shopping of course.

The kids also had fun with some hitchhikers we picked up. There were two college students along side a road. We had to stop for something, a picture I think, and they approached and asked for a ride. We told them sure but there are seven kids and no seats. They said it was fine they would squeeze in. So they somehow managed to sit in the aisle. Not sure how they did it, but they did. We drove them to Jenny Lake loop which was where they were parked and where we were headed for lunch.

The kids had a great time pestering them with "kid" questions. "Where are you from?" "Are you married?" "Oh, you're not. So you're partners then?" And so on. There were more than a few nervous giggles from the two friends.

The Tetons were fun though. Wish we could have spent more time there.
