7 Hours in the Kitchen, 6 Loads of Dishes, Happy Kids
Ok, the 6 loads of dishes was yesterday. I got caught up on dishes, made candy popcorn (yum!), and got the kitchen clean for today.
Today we made four flavors of suckers, a double batch of each, two batches of candied popcorn (blue and red, then we mixed them), and blue and red popcorn balls. I drove the kids around to sell them as it was threatening rain. They did pretty good. They got $6 each after expenses. Not bad! The only problem was I was in the kitchen for four and a half hours and I don't get paid!
After we got home, I still had to make dinner. I wanted potato salad, so I boiled potatoes last night. Sara wanted me to make deviled eggs. Being dumb, I decided to do both in one night. Ha! Yea. Two and a half hours later, I had an amazing dinner of fabulous hamburgers, the best potato salad I've ever eaten, and amazing deviled eggs. The recipes I tried worked great, and I added them to my favorite recipes blog.
But the best part is: the kids all ate dinner, liked everything, and no one complained! Who knew?! I just had to spend 2 and a half hours making dinner! No, that's not it. I've done that before and they still didn't eat it.
After dinner we watched the new MasterChef (now I'm going to get snickers about how my entertainment is watching others cook), kicked the kids out, then I posted the recipes to my site.
I'm tired. My husband just walked in and suggested a walk. I looked at him like he's crazy. Yes, this is where my kids get it. I'm going to bed though. Good night!
