Yummy Yummy!

Thanks to my cousin Karen's comment on yesterday's post, I found a few new cool sites with recipes to try. I'll have to play with some of those. I'm afraid I wasted a few hours today checking out blogging recipe sites. One lead to another which lead to another...you get the picture.

Anyway, my son Jeffrey is really into fish. I don't know why. I'm sure it's his father's fault, seeing as he's the only one who really eats fish in this household. The other night, I was at my neighbor's house and we were talking. Jeffrey came in with a can of salmon and asked how to cook it. I gave him my recipe for salmon cakes and told him I'd teach him later how to do it. My neighbor heard all of this, and invited himself over to try them when I did make them.

A week and a half later, I finally got around to it. Not only did I make salmon cakes, but I wanted to try crab cakes too. I found a recipe on line, and made them both tonight. I was also inspired by a cooking show I was watching last night and ended up inventing a new salad as well.

All in all, dinner was very good. The kids didn't really go for the crab cakes, fortunately, so there were more than enough for me and Peter. I saved some of everything for my neighbor, and he stopped by later to try the food. He's really enjoying my foray into trying new recipes, and has no problem being a guinea pig. Men!!! Anyway, he loved the food. He only wished there was more of it! So tonight went well.

You can find the recipe for the crab cakes, salmon cakes, and confetti salad (you'll have to scroll a bit to get to this one) at my recipe site, recipes.biz.(For any of you who were following my BudgetMealIdeas site, I move it to Recipes.biz. It's shorter and easier to tell people than Budget Meal Ideas dot Word Press dot com!)

Crab cakes with lemon wedge, orange twist, and confetti salad.

My newest creation, confetti salad. It turned out to be surprisingly good!
